I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Medavie Blue Cross registered service provider. In addition to my clinical practice, I have worked in the public health sector as a clinical educator, providing clinical training and consultation to other clinical counsellors across the region. I am also an associate faculty member at City University in the Master's of Counselling Psychology program.
Since beginning my career in 2012, I have worked with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds addressing a variety of life concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, boundary setting, substance use, healthy relationships, intimacy, recovery from self-criticism and perfectionism, relationship and career transitions, grief and loss, secondary trauma and caregiver burnout, and gender and sexual identity exploration.
My work with individuals is influenced by a feminist therapy framework, while also drawing from other evidence based and trauma informed counselling modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness/Mindful Self Compassion based therapies.
In our work together, I strive to see your concerns in context, without judging or pathologizing. I believe that the behaviours individuals struggle with often came about because they were at one point useful, and that the best path towards change lies in finding the strengths and wisdom in what you’re already doing.
My ultimate goal is to bring my real self into the counselling room and to work with you to cultivate a greater kindness, compassion, and understanding for yourself and your circumstances, as you move towards wholeness and wellness.
